now to mohamed el-erian, c.e.o. of pimco. >> susie: mohammed, great to see you. so you've had time to think about what the fed said. what is your take on this unprecedented move? is this a good thing? is this a bad thing for the economy and for the outlook going forward? >> my take is basically what is showing in the market today, which is to combine the words "unprecedented" "surprising" with unchanged markets. how do you do that? the analogy, susie, is look at the patient who is taking an experimental drug, that hasn't been clinically tested. professional investors like the idea that the fed is all in, and they like the idea that there is some drug out there that can help the economy. so they get excited about that. but at the same time, professional investors realize we're in totally unfamiliar territory. the operational modlities are complicated, and it has not worked in the past. so i reacto react as, you know what, this is neither good news or bad news. this is just a confirmation that the fed is all in. it doesn't speak to what is going to happen to equity prices on its own,

escalation in the dispute over mohamed mursi's effort to hold a referendum on a new constitution later this month shortly after he asserted wide-ranging powers. fighting continues today with supporters and opponents clashing in the streets of cairo. on wednesday, opposition leader mohamad held there by blamed the morsi government for the violence p.m. we hold president morsi and his government but irresponsible for the violence that is happening in egypt today. what is happening at the presidential palace at the moment, without the protection of the country, is an announcement from the country and the president that they do not hold their responsibility to protect the country. >> in a bid to calm the unrest, the vice president mahmoud mekky has considered adding a n amendment to the constitution. the death toll from the massive typhoon in the philippines has now topped 310 people with hundreds more missing. typhoon bopha is the most southerly typhoon to ever hit the pacific. 200,000 people have also been displaced after winds and flooding destroyed or heavily damaged their homes.

hour. a night of clashes between supporters and opponents of president mohamed morsi. five people died and the hundreds injured in the fighting which erupted in several cities around the country. more advisers have resigned over night. 6 in total since the awarded himself sweeping new powers. the gloves go to cairo for the latest. -- let's go to cairo. there are protestors from both sides in various locations. no clashes at the moment that we are seeing. the republican guards or tanks outside the ballots have issued an ultimatum to call all protesters from either side to leave the area within an hour. another interesting development, the most senior institution in sunni islam has called for the president to withdraw or suspend the controversial new powers that he took. so they have warned the president to diffuse the situation. so it's moving quickly, coming to ahead. >> there was some suggestion yesterday from the vice president that there may be some sort of compromise in store. you have any details on that? >> there is snow evidence what they're going to do or anything they can do p

director mohammed, the last time i saw o & m mohammed he was pushing a wheelbarrow. our department heads have stood with us. jill, karen, besides them, gary, who was at the time capital planning manager for rec and park. mindy, lenu chen, the manager for the project. michael from planning, john from the city attorney's office. michelle and mary, michelle is with the library and mary is with the friends of the library and put on this event today. our commissioners, rec and park, planning, library, who have voted unanimously. some of them more than once for this project. our board of supervisors, who stood with us. the architects, marsha and a special thanks to erin who has done so much to help us on though this project. you know? that is the city side of this public-private partnership and i have to be fair in saying that this project has lasted through the term of two supervisors, two head librarians, three mayors, and four rec and park general managers. the heart of this project, the constant thing has been the heart of this neighborhood. has been our volunteers and our people. undecided voters. >>> opponents of egyptian president mohamed morsi are calling for many protests following violent clashes in the capital cairo. morsi supporters and opponents clash near the presidential palace from wednesday through thursday forcing the military to intervene. the battles left six people dead and more than 700 injured. the violence erupted after morsi gave himself enhanced presidential powers. he also halted discussions on a new draft constitution drawing more public anger. the military temporarily cordoned off an area around the presidential palace deploying tanks and armored vehicles. the number of protesters continue to increase on thursday night. one protester said the latest clashes have led her to demand morsi's resignation instead of changes to the draft constitution. there are reports that the headquarters and offices of morsi's muslim brotherhood were set on fire. in a televised speech on thursday, president morsi said the referendum on a new constitution will be held on december 15th as scheduled. he also called for a meeting with opposition leaders. >>
